I just wanted to say that I have met Brian in 1980's while attending services at FBC-Houston. He was always cheerful and smiling. My heart goes out to the Craig Family. I lost a member of my family and I know how difficult it can be, but God is always with you and I have been keeping you guys in my prayers. May God Richly Bless you all...

I never knew Brian, but I feel I know him through his father, Arthur Craig, whom I just met two weeks ago. I came to Houston with a colleague from Gallaudet University to volunteer with deaf Katrina evacuees, and came to know the wonderful man who was Brian's father. He was so proud of Brian and the service he gave to his country. A father's pride lasts forever.

I had the wonderful opportunity to get to know Brian when he was a young man in High School while I served as youth minister one summer at Woodhaven Baptist Deaf Church in Houston, TX where his father serves as pastor. Brian was always smiling and fun to be around and was a beautiful reflection of his parents and His Lord. Just as Christ laid down his life for us, Brian learned that to live is Christ and to die is gain. I look forward to seeing him again when we get there to that place Jesus is preparing for us. Thank you Arthur and Barbara for having him, and sharing him with us.

I have never served in the military, nor have I ever met Brian Craig. I actually found a link to this web site from ChristianWebSite.com, and have been moved by the inspirational stories and photos that it contains. I deeply respect, admire and appreciate Brian and all other soldiers who have paid the ultimate price for serving their country. I am especially glad to know that Brian was a Christian, and he is now at home with the Lord, who has probably alrready uttered to him the words,"Well, done, good and faithful servant!" Hoo-rah, solider!!

I miss Brian and I think of him often. I served as Brian's Operations and Response NCO in San Diego and Bosnia. I enjoyed Brian's desire for fitness, his courage to do the right thing and his take charge attitude. Brian completed SERE and DEST with me in California; he was mentally and physically tough. I enjoyed our time together when we would go shooting or to the races. I have not met his family but my prayers are always with them. Today, I visited the Arlington memorial for Brian, Justin and Jamie. I was emotional but happy to once again be in their presence. I salute him.

For My birthday last year I receved a KIA bracelet with Brian's name on it. And I ended up contacting Mr. Craig and telling him about the Bracelet. I had also told my Pastor about me finding you in regard to my bracelet and the change that it has made in my life. I also gave him a copy of Brian's last letter with the Gospel on it for him to read. Once he read it, he told me that I had to share it with the rest of the church. Well, on Sunday mornings at the Church in which I attend we have someone from the congregation come up and either an What if(which basically what if you hadn't been in this situation then you would have never had that experience etc) or say What you give away of yourself to other, such as what impact as a Christian do you have on strangers or even people you know. Yesterday, I went up and shared my story of my bracelet and how this remarkable fallen soldier and his family has changed my life. About half way through the testimony I started to cry due to the sight of seeing some of the Older gentlemen and other in the congregation begin to cry, that was not the only reason God was truly touched my heart yesterday as I shared that with my church family. When I first e-mailed Mr. Craig regarding his son I never imagined the impact that it would have on my life. Then when I received the copies of Brian's letter, and once I read the letter my life was changed. I am sorry for the loss of this Heroic Soldier, but it is amazing that such a tragedy like this has changed so many lives including mine. God Bless, Rachel Trevathan

Brain you were an amazing man who had a compassion for life and others I have never seen in another soul. I never heard you once speak an unkind word about anything. You had such a gentle attitude, and steel will for morality that others could not help but to look up to you. I know I did. Brian was my last team leader while I was in the service and he helped me through times that I think only someone with the soul and compassion of a preacher could have. Thank you Brian, You touched my life and you will never be forgotten in my heart or mind. Nor my children’s, I can't wait to tell them about you. Peace man. I know you’re going make fun of me for how much I cried when I heard the news, when we see each other again. I miss you..

I am an EOD tech that recently returned from Iraq. I have learned so much and thought of SSG Craig during alot of my deployment. I was stationed at Andrews AFB with the 749th EOD. We were gearing up for our deployment when we learned of SSG Craig and the others. He was on my mind because I acted as an honorary pall bearer for his funeral. It was on of the saddest and yet proudest days of my life. I met SSG Craig on a VIP once, though I cant remember where. I was proud to be part of a small group with outstanding people such as himself. SSG Craig was and always will be an EOD tech just like me. He, on a daily basis, put his life at risk to make others safe and secure. I am proud to say he and I are forever in the same fraternity. God Bless You.

I know "B" through my brother, Jeff Dollarhide. He is and always will be my brothers best friend, soul mates, if you will, two people who were meant to be friends for life and after. Brian was an amazing person and if one was lucky enough to have had him touch thier life in any way then they are truly blessed. I was lucky enough to have had him in my life on a somewhat regular basis and for that I am eternally thankfull.

Brian and I served together in the 501st airborne before Brian switched to EOD. I can not tell you how much his quiet strength and faith were admired by not only myself. but our entire unit. I am sure the people of this site understand, but I find it amazing not only how much the loss of Brian still saddens me,, but how your faith allowed him and all of you to be so strong about this loss. The message I get from Brian and all of you is to be a better person and sturdy in your faith, I hope that he knows he has affected me this way.

Miss you brother, you gave it all and more. You did your job and asked for nothing in return, many times there are EOD techs out there that may question, "Why do I do this, its not for the money or the glory?" You did it for the soldiers, every time you went out you saved a life...though it might have been only one, it was a life. You will never be forgotten. See you later, the first round is on me when I see you again. God Bless.

There are so many things to say it leaves me without words....if only I could find the ones that truly convay how much Brian meant to me. Jeff Dollarhide, Brian and I were pretty good freinds in Alaska, nearly inseperable. The military community has a way of moving one around with hopes that you'll see each other again, I took the opportunity to make contact with Brian for granted and it was too late. After learning of his death, I reflected on not how he died but rather how he lived. In short Brian Craig was an example to all in everyway possible. I am a better person now having had him as a friend...I feel as though he was a mentor not only as a freind but as a person. Again, with so much to say.....there will never be enough words to describe him and is life or his effect on others. If only there were more people like him.....

Mr. And Mrs. Craig. I like, everyone was deeply saddened by the lose of your son Brian and his fellow EOD soldiers in Afghanistan. We in the EOD community are a strange group; we race towards danger when common sense and intelligence tells you to run away. We train and work to save the lives of others and sadly at times one of our own makes the ultimate sacrifice so others may live. The EOD community in San Diego is a close-knit family. Regardless of the service you chose to serve in, we are all EOD technicians and share a common bond. While stationed in San Diego I had the pleasure of training and working with Brian. I found him to be an excellent EOD technician, an outstanding soldier and a fine young American. You did a great job in raising Brian; the values and ethics you instilled in him are an example to us all. Brian and the fine young men like him are why our allies respect us and our enemies fear us. He will be missed. I will not forget him. Semper Fidelis, Mongo

Even in his death he continues to do great things. I am closer now with our good friend Jeff Dollarhide and we talk about Brian every time we talk to eachother. Barbara and Arthur: We have been so touched by our new friendship with you, however, we are very sorry for the reason in which we met. Brians life and death has truly affected me. While waiting in line at a restaurant a few weeks ago, I saw a marine wearing an Explosive Ordinance t-shirt. I followed him and his companion out of the restaurant, mustering the courage to ask, "Is this your job for the Marine Corp?" When he replied, "Yes", I said, "I just had friends at my home whose son died last year in Afganistan -- this was his job in the Army -- and I just wanted to say 'Thank You' for what you do." He said that he had a friend die there also...it was Jaimie. It was a tender moment between perfect strangers -- the brave soldier and the grateful civilian. We need to say, "Thank You" more often...thanks to those who serve and to those who let them go. So, "thank you", sweet Craig family. What a wonderful God we serve and what a wonderful country in which we have the privilege to live.

Barbara, The website is such an honorable tribute to Brian's memory. I remember the day in Arlington Cemetery as if it were yesterday. I pray that America never forgets the sacrifice of all our service men and women.

I'm sorry that I didn't get a chance to meet Brian on this side of heaven. He is one of the first people I want to meet when I go home. God's richest blessing to you Barbara, Arthur, Kevin, Elaine, and all of our service men and women.

Having Brian's mother, Barbara, as a former co-worker, I have witnessed first-hand a mother's devotion and determination to see the memory of her son live on. Along with Brian's laying down of his life as a demonstration of the highest love, there is also the witness of her strenth that can only come from knowing God is ultimately in control. God bless your family, and America and all who defend its freedom.

Working with Brian's mother, Barbara, for many years, I watched Brian grow into a wonderful young man never expecting he would make this ultimate sacrifice for my continued freedom. His testimony of faith continues to live on. His parents have been a true witness of God's sufficiency and sustaining power in the most difficult of times. May God continue to richly bless you as you continue to live for Him.

Brian went with us to the Estelle Prison Unit of TDCJ, to minister to Deaf Inmates, on his last leave home. I have been honored to share the witness of a true 'Soldier of The Cross'.
